Since I read the primary literature, i.e., peer reviewed journals,  the information you find on this site combine findings from the latest health and wellness research, including  both Chinese & Western healing therapies. It may take many years, or even decades, for some of these ideas to become routine clinical practices in Western healthcare.

Community Education & Health Literacy
As part of my community service, open and informal dialogs known as colloquia  are available to local communities whose members (15-35 people) are willing to work together to achieve better health and wellness, without spending lots of money.
Like my previous well attended talks at the Wilsonville Library, we will explore current ideas on the importance of both proper nutrition (e.g., the grocery is the pharmacy) and on participating in regular fitness appropriate physical activities to maintain muscle mass across the life trajectory, and on creating personalized life plans based on an increased awareness of the interfaces between our personal choices and current societal needs.
Contact the clinic (503-682-9319) if this service is of interest to your community.

House Call Consults
This premium service, which focuses on improving long term health without drugs, is intended for people who want to rest after the treatments and would like to and avoid leaving their home while learning new self healing skills, including chi kung techniques, which can be demanding.
Though it is poorly understood, contemporary science tells us that simple lifestyle modifications can often help reduce the impacts of chronic and resistant conditions.
As such, these services require active participation by the client.  My patients, who have overcome conditions like Migraine, conditions that went unresolved for decades in conventional care, will acknowledge that it takes time to learn from the quiet inner voices of our own Body.

Physical Medicine Modalities
The combination of TuiNa (acupressure) and acupuncture is often used to treat a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions, including physical and psychological trauma such as motor vehicle accidents and is often the reason for referrals from other healthcare providers such as DCs, LMTs, MDs, PTs and Psychologists – Counselors.

Acupuncture is currently being evaluated by groups such as the Department of Defense for stress, anxiety, and Post-Trauma Stress Disorders (PTSD).  Ear and Scalp acupuncture treatments are often used for these conditions.

Internal Medicine Modalities
Dynamic diet based therapies leverage our understanding of each individuals’ unique Constitution, i.e., the interplay between the major organs (Zang) to guide them in selecting the foods that will keep their bodies strong and supple, well into their seventies and eighties.

Chinese herbal medicine enjoys a long history and a well-developed formulary which has been developed over thousands of years.  Many formulas have been used for hundreds, if not thousands, of years.  For this reason, the theoretical basis of action and the application of this medicine is well developed.
Today, premium TCM herbal formulas are prepared following cGMP guidelines, in a manner similar to western pharmaceuticals.
